01:35 CNN Crossfire. Guest is Former NATO Commander in Bosnia, Gen. George Joulwan.

G.J. We were not clear in our objective in Vietnam, we had micro-management at the top. I find it difficult to ascertain what our political objectives are in Kosovo.

CNN: Now is too late to stop.

G.J.: Why is it too late to stop?

00:15 Apartment Complex Hit

We have just learned that three cruise missals have hit an apartment complex in the town of Aleksinac. There are 10 confirmed casualties. We are awaiting pictures from the site.

During the night NATO attacked almost exclusively civilian targets: Civilian airports in Belgrade and Nis; a power generating plant, another bridge and an oil refinery in Novi Sad; a tobacco factory in Nis; a TV transmission tower at Cot; a police station in Zvezdara (Belgrade) and scores of others.

Collateral damage included several hospitals and schools in all of the cities hit.

Yesterday, a hot water generating plant, supplying 1/2 million residents in Belgrade with heat was destroyed.

It appears that NATO has abandoned all military targets and is concentrating exclusively on the civilian ones.

Helmut Schmidt Denounces NATO Aggression in Yugoslavia

GENEVA, April 5 (Itar-Tass) - Helmut Schmidt, former federal chancellor of Germany, has expressed regret over the fact that the European countries found themselves "under the patronage of the United States" in the face of the crisis in the Kosovo Region of Serbia. "Americans understand nothing in the history of the Balkan nations," he said in an interview with the Hebdo weekly of Switzerland, which published in its latest issue several articles about the NATO aggression against Yugoslavia under the general heading "Dirty war."

"No matter who we are -- the French, Germans, Europeans -- we should all regret that we have again found ourselves under the patronage of Americans, who got stuck in the Balkan dilemma," he said. Schmidt fears that the bombing of Yugoslavia may lead to "a ground war and the spreading of the conflict to other areas." In the opinion of the ex-chancellor, who held the post from 1974 to 1982, the United States does not understand how "some nations of the region were spread and regrouped over the centuries depending on their ethnic origin and religion." The U.S. does not understand either "the historic confrontation between the three religions -- Roman Catholicism, Orthodox Christianity and Islam." Europeans are sometimes also "guilty of ignorance in this respect," he added.

"Acting under the patronage of Americans, we showed disrespect for international law and the U.N. Charter," Schmidt stressed. The NATO countries have found themselves "outside all rules."

NATO destroys bridge linking Novi Sad and Petrovaradin
April 01, 1999: Initial reports indicate no casualties in NATO assault on bridge NOVI SAD, April 1 (Tanjug) - Initial reports indicate that there were no casualties in the criminal attack of the NATO air force at 5 a.m. Thursday, which resulted in the destruction of the bridge linking Novi Sad and Petrovaradin across the Danube. Several citizens of Novi Sad who were on the nearby river banks at the time of the blasts saught medical assistance, but none of them were admitted for treatment. This crime would definitely have been even more disastrous if police securing the bridge had not turned back a city bus for the Bukovac suburb and several automobiles going to Petrovaradin.for pictures go to:

STOP NATO

Imagine world without wars, without fears, without killing,
without pain, without discrimination...sometimes its hard to do.Especially if you're living in country like Yugoslavia like I do.
Do you feel responsable for causing pain to some innocent people? Its a first step to world of beautiness, world of peace and love.
Do you trust in justice?Justice of heaven.Justice of God.Imagine how it would be if somebody else would come in to your life
to destroy everything you have.Imagine that you're just a target for somebody who is flieing over your sky.Someday he will shot you,it is a
question of statistic just.Few of 2 milion homes are destroyed everyday in bombing. It is not a big chance or it is?
Do you give a chance to statistic to decide will you be alive tomorrow morning?
Some of those buildings are the building which you work in and which giving you a chance to survive, some of them are
those you're specialy emotinal connected with. You need all your life to build it,you need a life of your forefathers to build it....and
all that will be burnt in fire by some man who never met you.About 30 people is killed everyday in nato bombing.Yugoslavia has about 10 milions people,it is not a big chance that next day will be mine turn.Or it is?
Don't let your life become a statistic.

THINK ABOUT THAT SOMEDAY IT COULD BE YOUR TURN!

Stop the bombs, save the innocent people.
